U3A Liverpool: Liverpool University of the Third Age is for over 50s and offers a wide range of classes. Enrolment days for 2019 are on Thursday and Friday, January 10 and 11 from 10am-noon each day at the Dr Pirie Centre, corner Bigge and Moore Streets, Liverpool. Annual membership is $45. Raise awareness: Stop Domestic Violence Day will be held at Bigge Park, Liverpool on Friday, December 7 from 5pm-9pm. The event is being staged by Liverpool police, Liverpool Council, Liverpool Domestic Violence Liaison Committee and the Kanafeh Boys. There will be food, entertainment and information stalls. Christmas cheer: Mounties will present their Christmas Carnival at Mounties Oval on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, December 15 and 16. Free to members, the event will include carnival rides, show bags, games, petting zoos and fireworks. Food trucks on offer will include The Bearded Bakers, EL’s Fried Chicken, Krazy Cup and Tezga Belgrade.
Fill your pantry: Anglicare Sydney, in partnership with St Johns Park Anglican Church, has opened a new Mobile Community Pantry at 73 Edensor Park, St Johns Park. The pantry will be open again on Monday, December 10 from 1.30pm-2.30pm.
Memorial service: White Lady Funerals Chapel, 124 -128 Elizabeth Drive, Liverpool will host a memorial service to remember those who cannot be with us at Christmas time on Tuesday, December 11 from 6.30pm. The service will be led by celebrant, Vanessa Leigh and Sister Anne Martin. Kathy Wilson from White Lady Funerals said the service was “a way to celebrate the lives of loved ones”.
