Sydney vacancy rates are up slightly. The institute’s October vacancy-rate survey saw Sydney vacancy rates up 0.1 percentage points to 2.9 per cent.

There was a slight slowing in those seeking rental accommodation in inner and middle Sydney.

Inner Sydney rose 0.4 percentage points to 2.8 per cent, middle Sydney rose 0.1 percentage points to 3.2 per cent and outer Sydney fell 0.1 percentage points at 2.8 per cent.

Wollongong was up 0.1 percentage points to 2.2 per cent.

Outer suburbs include Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, Liverpool and Wollondilly.
