Scrap pipe allegedly taken

At 9am on Monday, October 29, a 43-year-old man was arrested on Canley Vale Road, Wetherill Park in possession of a stolen truck.  Police will allege the truck contained stolen scrap metal and copper pipe. He was also charged for similar offences in August in the Lansvale area. 

He was charged with a range of offences including two counts of larceny and driving while disqualified and having goods in custody suspected of being stolen. He is bail refused to appear at Fairfield Local Court on November 12.

Offensive manner

At 11pm on Sunday, October 28, police patrolling the Cabramatta Railway Station observed a 26-year-old woman from Panania urinating onto the footpath near patrons waiting near the bus stop.  She was charged with behaving in an offensive manner and will appear at Liverpool Local Court on January 23.

Woman charged

At 5:30pm on Tuesday, October 30, a woman was observed within a business in the Neeta City Shopping Centre to steal vitamins and creams totalling more than $100. She left the store without paying for the items.  On Wednesday, October 31, the 25-year-old was arrested at an address in Alexander Street, Smithfield.

Police also located an amount of heroin and methylamphetamine. She was charged with shoplifting, two counts of possessing a prohibited drug and three outstanding court warrants. She was bail refused to Fairfield Local Court on November 7.

Offender caught

At 8pm on Wednesday, October 31, police observed a man graffitiing a parked bus on Cabramatta Road West, Cabramatta West. 

The 41-year-old from Mount Pritchard will be charged and appear at court on a date yet to be set.

Home invasion

An investigation has commenced following a home invasion in Villawood on October 29. About 7.45pm, a 63-year-old man – and sole occupant – of a home on Alcoomie Street, walked outside to move his car. The occupant saw a white/beige hatchback pull up outside his home and saw three men get out. The men were armed with a shortened double-barrel shotgun, a hand-gun and a knife.

Two of the men ran towards the occupant while the third man ran to the rear of his property.

The occupant was threatened by the men and taken to the backyard where he was pushed to the ground and held at gun-point while two men ransacked his home.

The men stole a gold watch, a gold ring and a packet of cigarettes before running from the location.

The occupant, who was not injured, called police and an investigation is now underway.
