Make no mistake about it: over the past few years, Halloween, the majority-American festival of spookiness, has grown in Australia.
This year Fairfield City Museum & Gallery are hosting a free spooktacular Halloween party titled The Haunted Museum on October 31 from 5pm to 7pm.
The Vintage Village will be transformed into a spooky Halloween-themed haunt with games, activities, face painting, crafts and ghoulish story time on the agenda.
Children can also go trick-or-treating in the confines of the museum.
“The Haunted Museum is an opportunity for children to visit Fairfield City Museum & Gallery dressed in their best Halloween costumes for a frighteningly fun evening,” Fairfield mayor Frank Carbone said.
“I encourage families to attend this free event and get into the spirit of Halloween.”
The museum will also host Spooky Halloween Fun! for tiny tots on Friday, October 26 from 10.30am to noon.
