Suspended p-plater caught drink driving at Fairfield

At 5pm on Sunday, September 30, police stopped a vehicle on Smart Street, Fairfield. The driver handed police a P1 drivers licence which checks revealed was suspended.  The driver recorded a positive breath test.  The subsequent breath analysis recorded a reading of 0.062.  The 20-year-old man from Guildford was charged with driving with a suspended licence and low-range drink driving. He will appear at court on November 19.

Station arrest

At 7:30am on Tuesday, October 2, as a result of a complaint police spoke to a man on the platform of the Cabramatta Railway Station.  A search of the male located a credit card with concealed knife and a multi tool. The 48-year-old man from Villawood was charged with custody of a knife and possessing prohibited weapon. He will appear at Liverpool Local Court on November 5. 

Break and enter at Cabramatta West

At 5am as a result of a call that a man was located in a premise at Maree Avenue, Cabramatta West, police attended and located a man nearby.  He was arrested with police locating alleged stolen property, methylamphetamine (ICE) and heroin.  The 30-year-old male from Ingleburn was charged with break, enter and steal, two counts of possessing a prohibited drug and resisting a police officer

He was initially bail refused, but granted bail at court and will next appear at Fairfield Local Court on  October 16. 

Police pursuit

At 4pm on Wednesday, October 3, police stopped behind two vehicles on Railway Parade and Barbara Street, Fairfield believing they had been involved in an accident and activated their emergency flashing lights.  A silver Holden Vectra accelerated away from the scene.  Police followed the vehicle after it refused to stop, engaging in a pursuit. Police terminated the pursuit due to the manner of driving and the danger to the public.  

Police received information the vehicle was abandoned in Bell Street, Yennora.  The dog squad attended and tracked the offender to a nearby rear yard.

The 19-year-old male learner driver from Canley Vale was charged with a eight offences including exceeding the speed limit by more than 30 kilometres and using an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

He is bail refused to next appear at Fairfield Local Court on October 8.
