Bulls win the cup

An Andrew Pethyon goal in the final helped the Fairfield Bulls win the recent 2018 Assyrian Cup.

The Fairfield Bulls defeated Mar Toma 1-0 in the decider at Nineveh Stadium to cap off the tournament which was held across two weeks.

The event saw 12 teams compete across four different pools. Each team played two round games to qualify for the finals.The tournament featured eight teams from Sydney and four from Melbourne.

The Bulls, who finished second in their pool, qualified for the final after defeating Assyrian Ashour 5-2 earlier in the day in the semi-final. 

Mar Toma booked their ticket in the final with a win against Fairfield Eagles 3-2.

Ilian Ochana (Assyrian Ashour), Wandi Jajaw (Edensor United) and Van Duraid Elia (Mar Toma) were the joint leading goal scorers with four.
