Kristiana Manu’a has committed to her “orange family” re-signing with Giants Netball for the 2019 season.
The former Liverpool City Netball Association representative player made her Super Netball debut in the opening round this season after missing the 2017 season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon.
The 23-year-old defender helped the Giants claim the minor premiership and was a standout during their finals campaign.
The Giants fell one game short of the grand final this season losing to eventual champions Sunshine Coast Lightning – who defeated the Giants in the grand final last year.
Manu’a, who was an ambassador for this year’s Oceania Cup at Woodward Park, said she is “super excited” to come back as a Giant.
“This club means so much to me and I’ve loved being part of the orange family,” the former Westfields Sports High School student said.
“I’m so proud to have been able to return to netball this season and get back out there on the court as a Giant.
“I feel like I was really able to develop my game each time I got to put on a bib and I feel really confident in where I am right now and with what I can contribute to the team.”
Coach Julie Fitzgerald said: “I’ve coached Kristiana for some years now and I’m always impressed with her determination and focus. She brings great energy.”
