P-plater, 50, charged after pursuit in Fairfield West

At 10am on Tuesday, July 3, a Diahatsu Sirion was detected speeding on Thorney Road, Fairfield West. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, which accelerated harshly and a police pursuit was initiated around the area. After several minutes the vehicle came to a stop on Avoca Road. The 50-year-old female driver from Fairfield West resisted police during the arrest.  She was charged with range of offences including exceeding the speed limit by 20km/h, not stopping the vehicle when directed to do so, driving with a suspended licence suspended, resisting arrest and not complying with P2 licence condition. She was granted conditional bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court on July 24

Intoxicated male fined

At 1pm on Tuesday, July 3, a 64 -year old-male from Bonnyrigg attended a store on Bonnyrigg Avenue and made numerous inappropriate comments towards female staff. Police spoke to the male in the carpark of the business and he was clearly intoxicated and began swearing at police. He was issued two criminal infringement notices: Offensive conduct ($500) and offensive behaviour ($500).

Female charged with high-range drink driving 

At 7.15pm on Tuesday, July 3, a silver Ford Falcon driving on Ellis Parade Yennora has collided with a parked and unattended vehicle. The driver of the Falcon recorded a positive breath test.  The subsequent breath analysis recorded a reading of 0.162.   The 52-year-old female driver from Fairfield East was charged with high range drink driving and will appear at Fairfield Local Court on July 30.   Her licence was suspended immediately.
