The Marconi Stallions kept their finals hopes alive with a hard fought 1-0 win against APIA Leichhardt Tigers at Lambert Park on Sunday.

In a game of end-to-end action with a plethora of chances across the 90 minutes, it was a lone goal from Stallions striker Marko Jesic in the 58th minute which proved the difference after he found the back of a net following a James Andrew strike.

Marconi’s fourth win of the year moves them to 17 points – three points behind fifth placed Rockdale.

The Suns notched their third straight win on Saturday night with a 2-0 win against Sydney United 58.

The loss leaves the Red in fourth place on 20 points and in a logjam of eight teams vying for the final two finals spots.

Wet weather forced the postponement of the Bonnyrigg and Blacktown City game.

This Saturday (5pm), Marconi play Manly at Cromer Park and Sydney United 58 play Sydney FC at Lambert Park (7.45pm). On Sunday (5pm), Bonnyrigg play Rockdale at  Ilinden Sports Centre.
