An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Fairfield Heights overnight.
Just before midnight (Thursday, June 7), emergency services were called to Polding Street, after reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car while crossing the road.
The injured man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Fairfield Hospital in a serious condition.
The male driver was uninjured and also taken to Fairfield Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command and the Crash Investigation Unit are at the scene and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Polding Street was closed between The Boulevarde and Neerini Avenue but is now re-opened.
