Boy, 14, charged over Bonnyrigg assaults

Police have charged a 14-year-old boy after two women were assaulted in separate incidents in Bonnyrigg this week.

About 6.50pm on Tuesday, May 8, police will allege a 23-year-old woman was walking on Harah Close when a male grabbed her from behind.

She was allegedly thrown to the ground and had her mouth covered with his hands before a struggle ensued.

About 12.30pm on Thursday, May 10, police will allege in court a male grabbed a 23-year-old woman from behind while she was walking along the T-way just near the northbound bus stop next to Brown Road.

She was allegedly placed in a choke hold before she was dragged behind the bus stop and punched in the head.

Officers from Fairfield Police Area Command commenced an investigation into both assaults and, following extensive inquiries, arrested a 14-year-old boy at a property in Montgomery Road, Bonnyrigg, yesterday (Friday, May 11).

He was taken to Fairfield Police Station where he was charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The boy was refused bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Children’s Court today (Saturday, May 12).
