Spain were crowned winners of the inaugural Fast 5 Community First Step (CFS) World Cup last Tuesday.

The round-robin tournament was held at Ultimate Soccer for 100 students from the Intensive English Centre at Fairfield High School.

The 5-a-side football tournament gives amateur players a platform to showcase their skills, while also giving participants the feeling and experience of a professional football player.

“The tournament was a huge success with all parties coming together to deliver an unforgettable experience for the students,” Shafiq Said from Fast 5 Football said.

Spain defeated Germany in the final 5-1. Brazil defeated Australia 1-0 in the third place play-off.

Fast 5 engaged the Mens' Shed to supply lunch while all players got to keep their jersey.

The male and female students were separated into 20 teams of five players representing a range of countries including Australia, Brazil, England, Spain and Lebanon.
