White Eagles remain winless

The White Eagles are still searching for win No.1 of the NPL season.

A week after giving up a 3-0 half time lead, the Bonnyrigg White Eagles have let more points slip – this time to Sydney FC who snatched a 3-3 draw in the 90th minute on Saturday night.

The White Eagles gave up the lead on three separate occasions at Lambert Park after Aaron Peterson’s first half double and second half goal to Jewook Woo put the visitors on track for their first win of the year.

But a Sam McIllhatton strike made sure Brian Brown’s team would remain winless to start the season and in last place.

“I feel sorry for the boys, they put a lot of effort in,” said Brown, who lost Tynan Diaz to injury in the opening minutes after losing Nikola Zonjic to injury before the game and Mun Soo Gil to suspension.

“I said to them during the week, we should’ve won three of our four games and we’d be sitting in second spot, instead, we’re at the bottom with two points.”

  • This Saturday (7pm), Bonnyrigg host Sutherland Sharks at Bonnyrigg.
