Sydney United 58 FC made it three wins on the trot for the first time this season with an impressive 3-0 win against Sutherland at Seymour Shaw on Saturday night.

The usual suspects of Patrick Antelmi, Chris Payne and the in-form Pani Nikas netted for the Reds to move them into fifth spot after five rounds.

Nikas, who played for Sutherland, was a constant threat for his former team and created several chances.

It capped a big week for United 58 who made it three wins in a week after their mid-week FFA Cup victory.

United 58 coach Jason Culina said he asked the team before the game to “dig in when the going gets tough”. And that’s exactly what they did.

“It was a great attitude from the boys, it’s our third win on the trot, and it’s all about momentum now. As long as we continue playing the way that we are and playing with the same intensity then I can look forward to next weekend’s game,” he said.

  • This Saturday (7.30pm) they host the Wollongong Wolves FC at Sydney United Sports Centre.
