Locals embrace first festival

Perfect weather greeted Fairfield’s first Easter Fair at the weekend.

Hosted by Australian Amusements, the three-day Easter festival was held at the Fairfield Showground with crowds enjoying the rides and games, food, showbags and daily fireworks show.

Some of the main attractions included the wood chopping exhibition, Easter egg hunt, reptile and snake shows, community group displays and the animal farm.

Residents also took advantage of the unlimited kids ride wristbands which included access to 22 rides.

Organiser Lauren Short said: “Our main goal was to make it affordable for families in the area to attend and we want it to be a place where people can celebrate their Easter and hopefully build on it in future years.”

The Easter Fair is scheduled to return in 2019.
