Applications are now open for the Mekong University Scholarship – a $10,000 grant from the club towards higher education.
The Scholarships are open to students of Vietnamese heritage, who are finishing high school in 2017 and are from low socio-economic and disadvantaged backgrounds.
The successful applicant must meet a minimum academic merit and have achievement in other areas such as community.
Mounties Group President, Kevin Ingram, said: “We are proud to support our local community, and believe in helping dedicated students achieve their education goals. This is the third year running we have funded the University Scholarship Program, and we’re really looking forward to receiving applications from eligible participants this year.”
Last year’s grant recipients Vivian Nguyen (Sydney Girls High School) and Linh Thuy Nguyen (Prairiewood High School), are both currently studying at the University of New South Wales.
Vivian is studying a double degree in Law and Commerce and Linh Thuy is undertaking Medical Studies.
- Application close December 15. Scholarship applications are available at Mekong or online: mekongmounties.com.au.
