Dami Im is not the only big name returning to the Moon Festival in 2017.
Children’s favourites Peppa and George Pig and the Minions will from part of the extensive children’s entertainment for one of Sydney’s largest and brightest Asian cultural celebrations, on September 24.
The lovable characters fit in perfect with the family-friendly theme of the Moon Festival according to Fairfield Mayor Frank Carbone.
“Moon Festival is very much a family-friendly event, so we’ve ensured we have attractions to suit all ages and tastes,” Mayor Carbone said.
“We have plenty of great entertainment for our younger visitors, including the loveable and cheeky Peppa Pig and her brother, George, and the mischievous Minions.
“They are certain to put smiles on the faces of all our young visitors – and even our not-so young.”
Other entertainment for children include:
- Buddha relic activity: pick up a moon or a star and write down your wish to your ancestors.
- Lantern making in Freedom Plaza.
- Art and craft in the Family Fun Zone .
- Face Painting.
- Roving lions.
- Children’s Lantern Parade.
- Twilight Parade.
- Children’s amusement rides.
“We also have crowd favourites such as cooking demonstrations, noodle eating, one-handed prawn peeling and moon cake eating competitions, lion dances, community performances, a lantern parade led by the Moon Goddess, and amusement rides,” mayor Carbone said.
The entertainment will coincide with a vast array of food options with more than 100 restaurants specialising in quality and affordable South East Asian cuisine on offer as well as the Bearded Bakers from Knafeh Bakery.
