One of the western Sydney businesses the Parklands Food Fest showcased this year has hailed the sixth installment of the community event a “big success”.
James Tran, owner of Vietnamese restaurant Huong Xua, said he sold 500 servings and sold out three times on Saturday as crowds flocked to the Lizard Log Amphitheatre to celebrate local food businesses and see cooking demonstrations from Karen Martini, Dan Hong and Ross Dobson.
Mr Tran said he was donating everything from the Food Fest to the Pal Buddhist School. “We sold servings of spring rolls and chicken lollipops for $2 but more than that were raising awareness about the school,” he said.
“Nine out of 10 customers didn’t know the school existed.
“The event was a big success.”
