Westfields Sports High School win under-14s division at All Schools Carnival

Another year, another state title for Westfields Sports High School at the NSW Rugby League All Schools Carnival.

The Fairfield West school won the under-14 Elite Secondary division on Wednesday to make it 27 state titles in 13 years.

In a all-Fairfield final, Westfields defeated Patrician Brothers College, Fairfield for the second time in the tournament 36-6 in the final at St Marys Stadium.

Westfields topped pool B with wins against Patrician Brothers College, Blacktown (16-4), The Hills Sports High (18-0) and Patrician Brothers College, Fairfield (22-0).

The team continued their dominance in the finals defeating Illawarra Sports High School 16-4 in the semi finals before leading from start to finish in the final against Patrician Brothers College, Fairfield, whose only two losses came against Westfields.

It was a case of what might have been for the reigning NRL Schoolboys Cup champions who made the final in three of the four divisions of the tournament.

Westfields went through the under-13s and 15s competitions undefeated before losing in the grand final to Patrician Brothers' College, Blacktown (24-0) and Hills Sports High School (12-0).

The under-16s lost in the semi final to eventual winners Illawarra Sports High School.

Westfields quest for consecutive NRL Schoolboys Cup titles continues on Thursday (August 10) with a quarter final fixture against Patrician Brothers' College, Blacktown at Campbelltown Stadium. Kick-off: noon.
