Fairfield councillor Ninos Khoshaba said former Smithfield MP Carl Scully would be forever remembered for so many “great projects” he delivered to the area.
Mr Scully, whose self-published book Setting the Record Straight was launched at NSW Parliament on Friday, was the Smithfield MP from 1990-2007.
“During this time Carl did an exceptional job representing his electorate and will be remembered for so many great projects such as the T-Ways, M7 motorway, M7 cycleway and road upgrades in our area to name a few,” said Mr Khoshaba, who became Smithfield MP in 2007.
“People in the area still talk about Carl and his charisma and his accomplishments for the area.”
The political memoir covers a range of topics including Mr Scully’s campaign for pre-selection. Ninos’ father Anwar, for which the memoir is dedicated, played a big role in and around this campaign.
He also talks about delivering transport for the Sydney Olympics during his time as transport minister and how his dream of becoming the NSW Premier ended.
