Aaron Mooy's Huddersfield Town are just one win away from the English Premier League.
The Terriers beat Sheffield Wednesday 4-3 in a penalty shootout on Wednesday after the teams were locked at 1-1 after extra time. The first leg ended goalless.
Mooy, who was outstanding yet again for Huddersfield, converted his penalty in the shootout.
Huddersfield, managed by David Wagner, will play Reading in the playoff final at Wembley Stadium on May 29.
English champions from 1924-26, the Terriers were last in the top flight in 1972, so would be debutants in the Premier League if they beat The Royals.
Goalkeeper Danny Ward was the Huddersfield hero as he saved spot-kicks from Sam Hutchinson and Fernando Forestieri.
In the dramatic finale, Terriers substitute Jack Payne missed the chance to win it when his penalty was saved by Keiren Westwood - only for Ward to then block Forestieri's effort.
Steven Fletcher had converted a cross from Barry Bannan to head Wednesday into a 51st minute lead but the visitors drew level 12 minutes later when a cross by substitute Collin Quaner was turned into his own net by Tom Lees.
The stalemate between the teams was hardly surprising, given the two sides could not be split over the course of the regular Championship season - nor again in last week's first-leg stalemate.
Wagner said he was proud of his players' efforts.
"We were able to manage both legs. At the end, if you play two games and you have to go to the penalty shootout, it says how tight and even the games were.
"I am so proud and happy for our football club. They can celebrate tonight. Huddersfield Town will be at Wembley.
"Huddersfield Town is one game away from the Premier League. Even if I speak about it, it sounds ridiculous, but it is true."
