Marise Payne outline what Parramatta receives in the federal budget

Infrastructure was the big winner for Parramatta in last week’s federal budget.

Parramatta based Liberal Senator Marise Payne described it as a responsible budget. “The Turnbull government is making the right choices to ensure the people of Western Sydney are given more opportunities and our nation’s economic growth story continues, so we can secure better days ahead.”

Parramatta and Cumberland councils receive $1,441,608 and $1,416,466 respectively to maintain and upgrade local roads. Parramatta Light Rail gets $78.3 million while WestConnex will get $1.5 billion.

More than half ($3.6 million) of the government’s $6 million contribution towards building a new Ronald McDonald House at Westmead was included in the budget. Around $500,000 was set aside for a seniors hydrotherapy pool in Wentworthville-Merrylands.
