It’s all happening right now in Fairfield City with Mays’ social calendar bursting at the seams. Fairfield City Local Business awards gala presentation will be held tonight at Club Marconi.

This prestigious event is the final stage of the Precedent Production’s Local Business Awards program which commends leading businesses for their outstanding efforts and contributions to the community.

Fairfield City Chamber of Commerce would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the finalists on their achievements throughout the year and wish the best of luck for tonight.

Speaking of achievements: after years of planning and months of hard work the Urban Design Study of Fairfield, Fairfield Heights and Villawood town centres concludes. The study carried out by The Planning Group in partnership with LFA Architects and AEC Group reviewed design controls within the City Centre.

Facilitating redevelopment of specific sites with a view to increasing building height and densities where appropriate, as well as introduce mixed use development where feasible, also enhancing and protecting the pedestrian realm, public and open spaces.

The designs for the state of the art buildings set to be built on 12 major sites ranging from 2500sqm to 26,000sqm within the Fairfield CBD will soon be released.

Fairfield High School’s Refugee Expo will be held on May 19, 9.30am-1.30pm, supporting the Fairfield community and creating links with organisations. For details contact Deborah Edwards on 9727 2111.

“Coffee with a Cop” is your chance to join your neighbours and police officers for a free coffee and conversation.

It’s at Fairfield Public School on May 23, from 10am to 11am.

Finally it’s that time again for the major fundraiser Time4kids.

This event involves community members, leaders, celebrities and sporting heroes being detained in a mock jail with the goal of raising bail to help stop youth crime.

I’ll be volunteering for the sixth year, along with fellow community leaders, to raise funds for Fairfield Cabramatta PCYC youth development and police crime prevention programs for local youth.

Your support and generosity at Freedom Plaza Cabramatta on Friday, May 26 between 9am and 5pm will be appreciated.
