Former Western Sydney Wanderers foundation member turn player Mario Shabow will leave the club at the end of the A-League season.
The 18-year-old will link up with the Newcastle Jets on a two-year contract in June.
The attacking midfielder is looking for more opportunities to add to his one A-League and AFC Champions League appearances
“It’s always a challenge moving to a new environment but I am looking forward to it,” Shabow said.
“I really want to come in and give it all I can for two years. I want to make an impact right from the off and play as many games as I can.
“I need to take the next step and that’s playing games at the elite level.”
The Hinchinbrook resident is part of the Young Socceroos squad and was a standout for the National Youth League and National Premier League sides.
“Mario is a fantastic individual who is warmly regarded throughout the entire Wanderers family,” Wanderers chief executive John Tsatsimas said.
"We hope that this opportunity will help him progress further in his career and we wish him the very best in the next stage of his football journey.”
Newcastle Jets coach Mark Jones said Shabow is an “exciting young talent”.
“We have watched him numerous times and he has got good feet and possesses an x-factor,” he said.
“We are excited to help Mario develop his game and we hope he will become a regular contributor for us in the Hyundai A-League.”
