Trash and treasure has never been more popular

There’s a new market in town and people are flocking to it.

The Pickers Bazaar trash and treasure market was launched at the Fairfield Showground in November and is drawing hundreds of people. At least half of its regular store-holders moved to the new market after the closure of the Grand Bazzar in Prestons.

Market manager Jason French said the community can come and buy a variety of new and used products as well as fresh produce and garden plants. He said a lot customers who would regularly go to the Prestons market had followed the stall-holders.

“We get shoppers here from 5am in the morning,” he said. “There’s a following of loyal customers. We also have a Sunday market in Yagoona and are looking at opening one in Liverpool.”
