CABRAMATTA West resident Alex Jara left on Friday to represent Australia in the international Tiger Street Football tournament.

The 27-year-old was part of the Latin Lovers team that went through the recent national Tiger Street Football tournament undefeated.

They will play games in Cambodia, Mongolia and Singapore.

"I'm really looking forward to the competition. It will be tough but hopefully we can go good," he said.

"The national tournament was tough. There were teams from everywhere and it was good to win the final 3-0."

Street football is not new to Jara.

"Where I come from in Peru everything is like street soccer. We don't have fields; we play on the dirt and on the road, so it is something I am used to," he said.

"It is a lot quicker game and it only lasts 12 minutes."
