Shots fired into Smithfield home

Police have commenced inquiries after shots were fired into a Smithfield home on Friday night.

Just after 10.30pm, police were called to Reserve Street following reports a number of shots had been fired into a home.

Officers from Fairfield Local Area Command attended and found damage to the front of the house.

No one was injured.

A crime scene was established and a search of the area was conducted with assistance from specialist commands and the Dog Unit.

A Mitsubishi Mirage was seen leaving the area after the incident.
