GREENFIELD Park-based AC United FC walked away from the inaugural state cups with two titles at the weekend.
The under-21s soccer team won a golden goal thriller against fellow Southern Districts side Fairfield Patrician Brothers 2-1 to win the Robertson Cup at Blacktown Football Park.
Matthew Amoroso was the hero for AC United, scoring five minutes into extra time after Nicholas Bugge equalised for Fairfield Pat’s in the dying second of regular time.
It completed a fairytale run for the under-21s team, who beat Bankstown Sports (3-1), Gymea United (1-0), Fairfield Hotspurs (1-0) en route to the final.
In the under-15s, goals to CJ Hallal and Renato Marando gave AC United a 2-0 win in the final against St Augustine’s.
The young guns dominated the knockout competition scorring 22 goals and conceding only four in five games with wins against Harbord Seasiders (4-1), Narellan Rangers (7-0), Castle Hill United (5-2) and Sans Souci (4-1).
