Man hurt in crash

A Villawood man is in Liverpool Hospital after he crashed into a power pole in Lansvale on Monday about 2am.

Cabramatta police said a white Toyota HiAce van was travelling east on the Hume Highway, Lansvale when the 18-year-old driver failed to negotiate a bend in the road and hit a street light, causing the power lines to fall to the ground.

The driver was taken to Liverpool Hospital. Police are continuing their enquiries.

Domestic violence

A Canley Heights man was charged with common assault following a domestic violence incident on Saturday night.

About 6pm, a husband and wife were involved in an argument at their house on Derby Street. Police allege the 39-year-old man struck the back of his wife's head several times.

Police arrested and charged the man. He was granted conditional bail.

Stealing charges

A Cabramatta West man will appear in Liverpool Local Court today charged with multiple property-related offences.

About 1.30pm last Thursday, Cabramatta police attended a house in Cabramatta West.

They found several items of property that were linked to stealing offences in the Westleigh and Normanhurst areas.

A 37-year-old Harris Park man was arrested and charged with six counts of stealing, three counts of goods in custody, possessing implements and possessing a prohibited drug.

He was refused bail.
