Knife-wielding robber

Police are investigating an armed robbery in Fairfield West on Monday.

Just after 6pm, a man entered a service station on Hamilton Road with his face concealed.

He approached the 24-year-old attendant and threatened him with a knife, demanding money.

The offender fled with cash and police were alerted.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 168 centimetres tall, with a medium to large build. He also has a slight accent.

Drink-driving charge

A man will appear in court later this month after he was charged with mid-range drink driving in Canley Vale on Sunday.

About 3.30am, police stopped a car on Railway Parade and conducted a random breath test on the 27 year old male driver from Fairfield.

The breath test returned a positive result and a subsequent breath analysis recorded a reading of 0.117.

He received a Court Attendance Notice and will appear in Liverpool Local Court on July 23.

His licence was suspended immediately.

Servo armed robbery

Police are investigating an armed robbery in Smithfield on Saturday.

Just after 7pm, a man entered a service station at the corner of The Horsley Drive and The Cumberland Highway armed with a knife.

The man, who had his face covered, approached the 31-year-old attendant and demanded money. Police said he fled with a small sum of cash.

The man is described as being about 173 centimetres tall with medium to solid build.

Teen a crime victim

A man has been charged following the robbery of a teenage boy in Cabramatta earlier this year.

About 3pm on May 14, a 15-year-old boy was walking along Vale Street when he was approached by a man from behind.

Police allege the man produced a knife and demanded money.

While the boy said he didn't have any, he handed over his mobile phone to the man.

On July 4, investigators from Cabramatta Local Area Command attended a home in Anastasio Road, Liverpool and executed a search warrant.

They seized several items for further forensic examination including a mobile phone and a knife.

A 21-year-old man was later arrested and charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon.

The man was refused bail.
