Shot fired into Granville home

A shot was fired into a Granville home from a car on Tuesday evening.

The shooting occurred in Blaxcell Street about 8.10pm.

At the time a 19-year-old man was walking north along the street, when the car pulled up beside him.

A single shot was fired from the car, hitting the home’s front window, before it drove off.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Police were called and closed Blaxcell Street between Guildford Road and Markey Street and established a crime scene.

Officers from Operation Talon, established last year to investigate shootings in Sydney, are working with Rosehill detectives on the case.

The car from which the shot was fired was described as a dark-coloured late model sedan.

It is not known how many people were in the vehicle, last seen driving away on Blaxcell Street.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Rosehill police on 9897 4199 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
