Smithfield man charged over violence

A Smithfield man has been charged with domestic violence related offences after police were called to a house in Cabramatta West on Saturday.

About 11am, police arrested the 22-year-old man after he allegedly committed domestic violence related offences against the victim at a property in Disalvo Close earlier in the day.

Police allege the man assaulted several members of the household and damaged property.

He was already wanted for earlier offences and has been charged with 19 offences including three counts of breaching a restraining order, four counts of malicious damage, two counts of assault, two counts of breaking and entering, and possessing an unauthorised firearm and ammunition.

He was refused bail and will appear in Campbelltown Local Court today.

Boy approached

Police are appealing for public help after a teenager was approached at Cabramatta on Thursday.

About 4.20pm, a 16-year-old boy was walking in a park on Railway Parade when a blue and white sedan drove up slowly next to him.

The male driver asked the teenager if he wanted to get into the vehicle but the boy ran away.

The man is described as being Asian in appearance, about 50 years old, with dark brown skin. He had an obese build, short black hair on the side of his bald head, a black moustache and a short black goatee beard.

He was last seen wearing a black jumper with white writing on it.

The car was described as a blue and white sedan with a possible partial registration plate of 'BZ'.
