Love Where You Live to blitz Dundas Park

A free Family Fun Day will be held as part of Parramatta City Council’s Love Where You Live blitz on illegal dumping at Dundas Park on Saturday 21 June from 10am until 12pm.

Lord Mayor of Parramatta, Cr John Chedid, said the Love Where You Live Family Fun Day will have plenty of activities for families and an opportunity for children to learn about waste and illegal dumping.

“I encourage parents to bring their children along and enjoy a free barbeque and jumping castle as well as interactive games for kids to participate in with two mini iPads up for grabs at the event,” Cr Chedid said.

“Children will also have the chance to take part in our waste education program. Activities include getting behind a Council waste truck and trying their hand at operating the hydraulic arm to lift bins.

“Our family fun days provide great opportunities for people to learn about the wide range of services that Council delivers to the community.

“For this particular event, our focus will be on helping to raise awareness about our waste services and how people can help us to keep their streets, neighbourhoods and the City clean.”

The six-week Love Where You Live blitz, which finishes on 27 June, involves Council officers patrolling illegal dumping hotspots in the Parramatta Local Government area every day.
