Teenage girl approached at Canley Vale

Police are appealing for information after a teenage girl was approached at Canley Vale on the weekend.

About 4.20pm on Sunday, June 8, a 14-year-old girl was walking along Chatham Street near the intersection of Wyong Street when a blue vehicle slowed down beside her.

The male driver spoke to the girl and she ignored him.

When he opened the passenger door from inside the car, the girl continued walking towards a bystander who was standing in front of his home.

The car was last seen driving towards St Johns Road.

The incident was reported to officers on Wednesday, June 11 and police from Cabramatta police commenced an investigation.

Detectives would like to speak to a man who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man is described as being of Asian appearance, aged between 30 and 40 years old, with a chubby build, and big eyes. He was last seen wearing a light blue cap with a black square on it and a jacket.

The vehicle involved is described only as being blue, bearing black and yellow plates with a registration beginning with ‘BZ’.
