WITH graduation on the horizon, many year 12 students are looking towards the future.

The HSC and Careers Expo features 190 exhibitor stalls and 156 seminars.

Tina Tolich from event organiser Resources for Courses said the expo could be a reassuring experience for school-leavers and those still in school.

"The event is targeted towards years 10, 11 and 12 students, and there's three different reasons why three different lots of students would choose to come to this event," she said.

"For year 10 students, there's the chance to get the glimpse of the wide variety of options available when they complete their schooling."

The expo offers students a look at different courses and careers, but also hosts a seminar on subject selection for students entering year 11 and 12.

Year 12 students will be able to learn more about their options after the HSC from the exhibitors, including universities, TAFE colleges and private colleges.

There will also be booths with information on gap years and overseas working options.

"Students might attend a seminar about something they're mildly interested in, and it will tip them over the edge into knowing that's what they want to do," Ms Tolich said. "Or there may be an exhibitor that they've never seen and didn't know existed, and they might discover an area of interest they didn't know about.

"Get on to the expo website — the seminar program is up there and students can choose which they want to go to and plan ahead."
