GALLERY: Students protest Budget changes

About 100 people attended a Unions NSW rally in Parramatta today to protest measures in the federal budget.

Students and members of the Resistance Young Socialist Alliance joined those protesting cuts to social services in a bid to block the budget.

One said it would impact heavily on students if the deregulation of uni fees made degree costs soar as projected.

For anyone who asks why we [high school students] protest, they should keep in mind that the deregulation of university fees comes into effect in 2016, so we are the ones who are going to be the most affected,’’ said Resistance member Lawson Tanner, 16.

‘‘We all really need to stand together against the budget.''
