Off-duty officer on drink-driving charge

An off-duty police officer was charged with mid-range drink-driving at Church Street on Saturday.

About 1.10am May 31, officers attached to Parramatta Traffic and Highway Patrol Command stopped a vehicle on Church Street, Parramatta, for the purpose of a random breath test.

The driver, an off-duty male constable, was submitted to a breath test and allegedly returned a positive reading.

He was arrested and underwent a breath analysis which returned an alleged reading of 0.088.

The officer, attached to the South West Metropolitan Region, was issued with a court attendance notice for the offence of mid-range PCA to appear in court on June 18.
