Police target cyclist and pedestrian safety

Police will be out in force in Parramatta, Liverpool and Sydney's CBD today as part of a large-scale cyclist and pedestrian safety operation.

Operation Pedro will include officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol, the Motorcycle Response Team, bicycle squads and the mounted unit, who will all target cyclist, pedestrian and vehicle activity in our busiest intersections.

The operation launch will follow an announcement on Fatality Free Friday (tomorrow, May 30) at 10.30am today.


8am-10am: King Street cross of Pitt Street, Sydney

10.30am-12.30pm: George Street cross of Park Street, Sydney

11am–1.30pm: George Street cross of King Street, Sydney

2pm–4.30pm: George Street cross of Goulburn Street, Sydney

3.30pm-4pm: Church Street cross of George Street Parramatta
