Police from Strike Force Duperry find drugs in a raid in Auburn on Tuesday, May 20.

Police seized about 60 kilograms of drugs and charged four men, following Strike Force Duperry’s raid on an Auburn property on Tuesday.

Duperry is a joint operation targeting drug-trafficking, involving NSW’s Organised Crime Squad and the state and federal crime commissions, with help from the Federal Police.

At about midday on Tuesday, detectives involved in the Auburn operation found 15 kilograms of pseudoephedrine and arrested six men and one woman.

Police later charged four of the men with supplying illegal drugs.

The men; 23 of Auburn, 22 of Merrylands, 22 of Wentworth Point and 24 of Berala, appeared in Burwood Local Court on Thursday.

The woman was transferred to a Villawood detention centre while the two other men were released pending further inquiries.

Police conducted further raids on properties in Auburn, Granville, Merrylands, Berala and Wentworth Point.

They seized more pseudoephedrine, methamphetamines, powder believed to be precursor drugs as well as cash, mobile phones, passports and other documents from the Auburn and Berala raids.

Strike Force Duperry had already charged two other men with supplying drugs in April.

It had also seized an SKS assault rifle, more than 300 rounds of ammunition and drugs estimated at $2.87 million.

NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione said Duperry was another example of how law enforcement agencies co-operated to fight modern day organised crime.

‘‘Contemporary organised crime syndicates are complex operations where criminals from different backgrounds combine their resources to increase their black market profits,’’ Commissioner Scipione said.

‘‘To combat this we are working closer than ever with our partner agencies and, collectively, are causing more disruption and damage to illicit enterprises than we ever could working alone.’’
