Teenage boy robbed at Cabramatta

Police are appealing for public information after a teenager was robbed at Cabramatta yesterday.

About 3pm, a 15-year-old boy was walking east on Longfield Street when he was grabbed from behind by a man armed with a knife.

The man allegedly demanded money from the teenager, who told him he had no money.

Police have been told the man then allegedly demanded the 15-year-old open his school bag.

The boy complied and, fearing for his safety, gave the man his mobile phone.

The man was last seen running east on Longfield Street.

Police from Cabramatta Local Area Command were notified of the incident later that day and commenced an investigation.

Detectives would now like to speak to a man who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man is described only as being of Asian appearance and aged in his late teens or early 20s.
