Lions still in contention for semis

FAIRFIELD Liverpool's semi-finals charge is still alive. They restricted Mosman to 9-175 on the opening day play's at Allan Border Oval on Saturday.

The Lions first grade team need to win all three of their remaining matches and hope teams ahead of them slide down the ladder to make the top six.

Three wins in succession before this game have given the Lions a fighting chance.

They are eight points from sixth place. Teams are awarded six points for first innings wins and 10 points for outright victories.

Harmon Sandhu took 3-27 with his medium pace and spinner Anthony Clark took 3-11.

Lions club president Richard Gerdes said the team simply has to keep winning.

"The boys have hit form in recent games," Gerdes said.

Fourth grade is in second place.

"The fourth grade boys have been consistent all season," Gerdes said.
