DEVELOPING tennis player Anne-Marie Medcalf is maintaining winning form.
The Bossley Park tennis girl is ranked No. 1 for her age group in the under-15 girls' age group in NSW.
Nationally, the right-handed player is No. 2 in her age group.
The talented junior player trains out of Marconi Tennis Centre.
Anne-Marie recently added another singles event to her CV, with victory in the Macquarie University event.
She won the open-age event against girls several years older than herself.
Marconi Tennis Centre's Stewart Whicker said Anne-Marie continues to improve with each event she competes in.
"Anne-Marie works at her game and trains hard and is developing all the shots you need around the court in tournaments," Whicker said.
Anne-Marie has also credited her consistent form by training with her hitting partner, Joel Liberatore, 19.
"Hitting the ball in training with Joel has helped with my game," Anne-Marie said.
The 150-centimetre-tall athlete has been training for seven years at Marconi Tennis Centre.
"Stewart Whicker has been a good mentor for me," she said.
Liberatore's physical strength with his shots has bolstered Anne-Marie's power game. Last year the teenager had a "golden" phase winning several events in different age groups.
Anne-Marie won the 18 years girls' event at the 2012 Sawtell RSL Seaside Open; she also won the 16 years girls' singles title at the 2012 Sydney Junior Championships and as well the 2012 Wollongong June Junior Open.
On top of that there were wins in the 14 years age group at the 2012 Bathurst Junior Open and the 2012 Australia Post Margaret Court Cup.
The year 10 Bossley Park High School student is now preparing for tournaments at Sawtell and Grafton in the coming weeks.
