AECOM Building Services are client-facing Project and Construction Management specialists, providing advice and specialist assistance across all stages of a project’s lifecycle, from pre-construction through to handover and delivery.

With a history of providing first class engineering and project management support, we have been contacted directly by the Northern Territory Government to provide 2 talented and influential Senior Project Managers with substantial building services experience to take ownership and provide delivery of their capital works program in Tennant Creek.

Tennant Creek is a friendly town on the main artery between Alice Springs and Darwin and has a proud and rich history shaped by gold mining, Aboriginal culture and is the birthplace of NT’s original cattle kings.

Tennant Creek have a range of exciting projects to deliver over the next 2 years totalling over $40million including the Tennant Creek Art Trail, the Purkiss Park redevelopment, school accommodations and hospital upgrades. You will be getting exposure to a whole range of project and management areas simply not possible in major urban areas, enhancing your CV and accelerating your career.

You will need to be full time in Tennant Creek or at least on a 4/1 rotation from either Alice Springs or Darwin. The hours per week in Tennant Creek are 37.5 and you will be provided with free self-contained accommodation and a fully expensed vehicle provided by the state government.

A suitable Senior Project Manager in AECOM Construction Services will be capable of managing Project Engineers and various internal/external stakeholders throughout construction and delivery phase on a variety of projects with an ability to manage expectations and deliver results to our client successfully.

The 2 Project Management roles available, encompass all stages of the project lifecycle, therefore enabling you to perform in all stages of construction, procurement, project delivery and utilise your strategic influencing with a variety of stakeholders; from clients to sub-contractors, internal Directors and Executives, or Project Engineers.

It is essential for a Senior Project Manager to be engaged, engaging and excited by project delivery and successful integration of varied specialist and multi-disciplinary stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

The 2 Senior Project Manager roles will suit a proven Project Manager with a strong understanding of client-side consultancy and construction projects. Regional experience would prove highly advantageous.

The Senior Project Managers will have a natural flair for team leadership, and taking responsibility for project deliverables and successes while making a decisive impact. Some of our basic requirements are listed as follows:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar

  • 5+ years’ Project Management experience (or similar) in building services environments

  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time, to schedule and to client parameters including a good understanding of project management frameworks

  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative, ethical behaviour in a client-facing environment

  • Strong commitment to safety and understanding of OH&S best practice and obligations.

  • Demonstrated experience working as part of a multidisciplinary project team on complex multimillion-dollar projects with responsibility for outcomes.

  • Experience in developing proposals, contracts and managing sub-contractor agreements in construction environments

  • Develop and maintain project programs, change schedules, scoping documents, risk assessments, management plans, budgets and issues registers.

  • Strong understanding of Contract Administration and working with clients in Infrastructure and government projects

  • Confident communicator in client-facing environments and an ability to engage successfully across broad and complex stakeholder groups

  • Strong ability to influence and confidence in negotiation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or similar in Project Management

  • Background in client-side project management consultancy strongly considered, but not essential
