AECOM’s Resources and Industrial team has opportunities for a Principal Electrical Engineer to work across all project phases, from studies through to detailed engineering and execution, working across a broad range of mining, industrial, renewables and National Government (particularly Defence) projects. Given the breadth of opportunities available AECOM would consider applicants with either a broad-based electrical skillset or targeted skills within E&IC, HV, secondary / protection and/or renewables.
Suitable candidates can expect to:
Manage and deliver moderate to large-scale projects while being responsible for the management of resources, budgets and timelines, and enhancing client and working relationships.
Lead, or assist, in preparing proposals and presentations to clients to generate work for the business, in addition to providing engineering and design expertise in all aspects of mechanical engineering.
Lead and contribute to project delivery across the full project lifecycle from opportunity capture and contract execution through to design, commissioning and close out.
Utilise the AECOM Project Delivery System (PDS) framework as well as the commercial risks at various stages of projects from opportunity through to delivery including those material risks.
This is a project-leading opportunity to partner with a variety of major clients from our Adelaide office and lead major project delivery in a diverse role, which will generally require the following skill set and attributes:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering;
Proven professional experience in electrical engineering and associated disciplines and project delivery roles;
Broad based skillset and experience across electrical engineering including mining, renewables and heavy industrial applications, bulk fuel and hydrocarbon storage, distribution and offloading facilities.
Proven knowledge of consulting services and delivering projects to Australian Standards;
Demonstrable ability and understanding of electrical design and modelling software packages (eTAP, PowerCAD, PowerFactory);
Confident technical capability across LV/MV design within heavy industry, mining (underground, material handling or Non-Process Infrastructure) or within Department of Defence (including building infrastructure);
Capability to lead and coordinate projects and multidisciplinary teams of engineers to produce project deliverables to agreed deadlines and standards;
Excellent communication skills and ability to engage a variety of stakeholders.
Proven experience with Department of Defence and associated standards and guidelines including MIEE, Defence Fuel Infrastructure Design Practices Manual and eDEOP-101;
Competencies for working with electrical equipment for hazardous areas (EEHA);
Demonstrable background in renewables projects, including techno-economic analysis/feasibility, BESS, wind and solar design experience, highly advantageous.
Proven experience in E&IC design, including relevant AS/NZS 4761 qualifications and competencies with Hazardous Areas within gas / dust / explosive atmospheres and/or Bulk Fuel Engineering Design Experience for Defence, Aviation and Maritime;
