IT Procurement Lead

Your new company

Our client are a well known, financial services organisation with an ANZ remit, who are in a phase of positive, proactive transformation within their procurement team and are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Lead as they expand. Working as a key senior stakeholder within a medium scale procurement team spread out across Melbourne and Sydney, you'll join a collaborative and proactive team with an excellent culture.

Your new role

You will be working in an established team, and will be responsible for leading and contributing to technology procurement, sourcing and vendor management initiatives, partnering with a variety of stakeholders to ensure procurement activity is aligned with business requirements and objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the long-range planning and delivery of complex technology focused strategic sourcing activity
• Contribute to business performance with insights, collaborative input and expertise that promotes value creation, innovation, managed risk, and improved performance.
• Support the planning of sourcing and procurement activities across the group, acting as a point of strategic advisory
• Management and direct oversight of three specialist level professionals
• Manage complex tender activity from go to market, through to negotiation and contract execution
• Establish and maintain mutually supportive, consistent and transparent relationships with all key stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you'll be an established senior procurement professional with considerable experience operating in a complex corporate procurement environment, with extensive experience across technology spend.

Key experience and competency required will include:

• Excellent negotiation and commercial acumen skills, and category, supplier and contract management experience.
• Experience managing procurement across the full scope of technology spend found within a corporate environment
• Experience managing and mentoring procurement stakeholders
• Strong understanding of best practice in end-to-end procurement function
• Strong experience operating and delivering results in a matrix environment and leveraging relationships to influence and drive outcomes
• Demonstrated experience managing high value, complex strategic sourcing activity and planning and delivering complex procurement activities
• Experience managing specialist level staff
• Financial services or technology experience would be viewed favourably but is non essential
