2022 Graduate Nurse Program

Permanent employment
1-year program that offers preceptorship and on-site educator support
Comprehensive Orientation Program
Supernumerary shifts at the beginning of each rotation
In-service and debrief sessions
Paid education days
Permanent Part-time 64 hours per fortnight

Hunter Valley Private Hospital is the oldest private hospital in the Hunter Valley, located near the University of Newcastle and Hunter Wetlands in Shortland. This full three year ACHS accredited hospital has 83 beds and specialises in acute Medical, Surgical (including paediatrics), Rehabilitation and Day Stay procedures.

Hunter Valley Private Hospital are offering Graduate Nurse Positions to commence 30th January 2023 in both a Ward-based Program and Perioperative Program

4 rotation Ward-based Program - 6 positions

Medical Ward
Surgical Ward
Rehabilitation Ward

3 rotation Perioperative Program - 1 position

Scrub/Scout
Anaesthetics
Recovery

The Graduate Nurse Program at Hunter Valley Private Hospital is aimed to provide

A year of consolidation of clinical skills in a supportive and caring environment
A variety of clinical experiences enabling growth and development
Evidence of each Graduate Nurse's clinical experience as part of their professional development and portfolio

Selection Criteria

Essential:

Current enrolment in a Bachelor of Nursing program with registration prior to commencement in January 2023
High level of interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
On-going commitment to professional development
Ability to work within a team environment

Desirable:

AIN experience
Previous clinical placements in an acute medical-surgical hospital

Note:

Applicants who have completed their initial nursing degree prior to 1 June 2021 are not eligible to apply
