Disability Support Workers - Shepparton

  • Casual or permanent positions
  • Pay scale - $28.57 - $37.54 per hour (Including 25% loading for casuals and excluding penalties)

    We work with clients on their plans to reach their independence goals in our homes or in the community and build their confidence to make more choices in their daily life.

    We are a specialist provider of unique accommodation, attendant care and in-home services to individuals with acquired brain injuries, disabilities, and complex conditions.

    All our disability support workers are carefully selected and recruited based on the specific requirements of our individual clients.

    Your Role

  • As a Disability Support worker [at the Shepparton Community House] you will provide person-centred care to support clients in their day to day activities.
  • You'll be assisting clients with all aspects of their daily living. No day is the same - you might provide personal care, help with mediation, shopping, or cooking. But most of all, you will support clients to achieve their personal independence goals.

    More Information: You must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process. All candidates should be up to date with relevant Vaccinations/Immunisations: (Hep A & Hep B) and will be asked to provide evidence of COVID19 vaccinations including Booster.

    To be successful, you'll need:

  • Passion and commitment in supporting people with disability and ensuring they have choice and control and feel safe
  • Ideally a Certificate III or IV in Disability/Community Service/Individual Support/Aged Care or experience working in the disability sector
  • To think critically, problem solve and make decisions
  • Great organisation skills and to work effectively as part of a team
  • To be flexible and be available to work individually and as a team across a 24/7 roster
  • Introductory computer skills

    You will also need the following checks or have a willingness to obtain:

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • CPR certificate (no more than 12 months old)
  • COVID Vaccinations and Booster certificate
  • Current State/Territory Driver's License preferred but not mandatory
