The important role business plays in the community will be recognised at the Fairfield City Local Business Awards on May 9.

Voting opens on Monday to recognise Fairfield’s best businesses with members of the community encouraged to nominate and vote for their favourite local businesses by visiting the awards’ website.

Business Awards founder Steve Loe said the awards were a chance for residents to recognise businesses that provide outstanding goods and services.

“Year after year, the stand-out message from our nominees has been that the Awards judging process gives them a framework in which they can reflect on every aspect of their business – from customer service to presentation,” the Precedent Production Managing Director said.

“Business people can often become so immersed in the day-to-day running of their operation, that it’s hard to take time to step back and evaluate what they’re doing from a customer’s point of view.

“The Fairfield City Local Business Awards provides an opportunity and framework for business owners and managers to take an impartial look at what they and their teams are doing, then make adjustments to suit.”

Customers can nominate and vote for businesses in industry categories. Nominations form are available online or instore at participating retailers. Nominations close on March 13. The awards presentation night will be held on May 9.

Everyone who nominates a business will be in the running to win a Nespresso KitchenAid Coffee Machine.

The Champion will provide weekly updates on the progress of the awards program and run a special finalists feature and winners feature.
