SD Raiders FC under-13s girls futsal team coach Sergio Malfara uses one word to describe his team: winners.

“They have a competitive edge and they always want to win,” he said.

“Not only do they want to win, they want to get better and improve and that has developed a strong winning mentality within the group.”

Described by Malfara as his “mini invincibles”, the 10-girl team have dominated the under-13 Futsal State League this season after finishing second last the year before.

In 14 games they have scored 113 goals and conceded only 15 on their way to the undefeated minor premiership. Ella Abdul Massih netted 37 goals to lead the league.

“To be undefeated and score more than 100 goals is a great achievement but it is very rare to remain undefeated because futsal is so open and you tend to concede goals and lose games,” he said. “So to maintain that high standard for the whole season is incredible considering half the girls are 10,11 and 12.”

The dominant under-13s team have helped the nine-team club be promoted to the Futsal Premier League 2 for next season.

SD Raiders have five teams in the semi finals which are coached by Malfara, Nicky Carle and Adrian Iorfino.

  • The under-13s team play their semi final against Sutherland at Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre at 10am.
