Shot fired at park in Old Guildford, not thought to be targeted

Police are investigating after reports a shot was fired in Sydney’s west on Thursday night.

According to reports made to police, a man armed with a firearm entered a park in Carnation Avenue, Old Guildford, at about 7.45pm and fired a shot.

He then entered a dark-coloured vehicle on Orchid Road and fled the scene.

Nobody was injured and no property was damaged.

Officers from Fairfield Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Initial inquires suggest it was not a targeted shooting.
